High Capacity Northern Telecom NORTEL DMS 100
High Capacity Northern Telecom NORTEL DMS 100 Network Switches, Home Network Switches
Description:
DMS is made by Northern Telecom. It was first introduced in 1979. To date, DMS has been able to interface with such switches as ESS #1-4, Xbar, TSPS, and EAX. The DMS switch itself is physically smaller than a Xbar switch, and usually smaller than most AXE switches. This is because the DMS switch is more spread out, as opposed to other types of switches which are all located in one switch house. The use of remote modules give the CO more space to install a Line Concentrating Module (LCM) or Main Distribution Frame (MDF). Many versions of DMS exist. DMS versions and systems are as follows:
Digital Multiplex System (DMS) is the name shared among several different telephony product lines from Nortel Networks for wireline and wireless operators. Among them are:

The DMS 100 Switch is a line of Digital Multiplex System (DMS) telephone exchange
switches manufactured by Nortel Networks.DMS offers remote switching with a bunch of remote modules in a bunch of sizes and capabilities. Some include SXS replacement or growth.Outside plant cable relief, and Office feature's.The use of remote modules give the CO more floor space that would usually be used by the Line Concentrating Modules (LCMs),Main Distribution Frame (MDF), and cable equipment.
About using the DMS 100 Switching System Interface:
The DMS 100 is Digital Multiplex System made by Northern Telecom (NTI)
with a nice commands interface that's pretty easy to use, overall. A lot of the material is still cryptic but some things can be put together and that's what's been done here. DMS has some online help, and that combined with hours of system use bring about this very cool, file for you privileged elite d00ds you. Enjoy and use it respectfully and your access will last.
Applications:
The DMS-100/IBN consists of electronic business sets and standard telephones,
data units, and attendant consoles, all located on the customer's premises; and
DMS-100 digital switching, and support hardware/software, located at the
telephone company's premises. Together they create an integrated business
communications network that provides an unparalleled combination of features
and benefits.DMS-100/IBN integrates voice and data in a total business communications
system. Effectively serves all sizes of organizations, from small businesses using only a few lines, to the most complex network systems with up to 30,000 lines. The IBN system monitors and controls its own operations automatically;diagnoses problems; and in some cases, does its own repairs. Fully modular, to meet present needs, and accommodate new features as they are needed. Cost effective: Helps control communications costs through more efficient use of facilities; centralization of attendant service where needed; Call Dial Rerouting (CDR) to control and restrict long-distance calling; and network management
Worry free operation-Northern Telecom's DMS-100 digital switches are backed up by highly trained telephone company personal.
